Chinese hacker team Pangu is back – and Apple might not be too happy about it

Only one week after Apple released its latest products, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the Chinese hacking team Pangu released a jailbreak tool for iOS 12 running on both of them.

Jailbreaking means to remove the limitations set on Apple’s devices by the company so eventually the user is able to install third-party software not certified by Apple. In the case of iOS 12 Pangu discovered this can be achieved by bypassing a functional PAC (Pointer authentication codes) mitigation.
