R3 summit enjoys a successful 2018 edition

The annual R3: Resilience, Response & Recovery Summit held by TEISS received an overwhelmingly positive response from IT and industry professionals, with many attendees praising the “topical and informative” nature of the event.

From ransomware attacks infiltrating public organisations to companies experiencing data breaches, the cyber landscape of 2018 has faced a turbulent year; what’s worse is that the frequency of these security exploits is only increasing. As the presence of cyber-attacks does not appear to be subsiding anytime soon, safeguarding, in the form of building a resilient cyberculture, is vital. TEISS’ R3 Resilience, Response & Recovery Summit is the number 1 conference specialising in post-breach response plans, including forensic and legal requirements, communication strategies and top tips for a fast recovery. The event starts with the assumption that the delegates will suffer a data breach and walks them through the most vital steps of response and recovery strategy, sharing practical take-aways alongside legal guidance and incident exercises. It is an integral day for cybersecurity professionals where industry experts with aligned interests can network, share key insights and learn from leading expert speakers.

Our 4th annual summit held in September 2018 was a phenomenal success, with streams that covered strategic and communications challenges, and the legal and financial considerations of a cyber breach. 30 CISOs, and other top experts joined the stage to share their cyber knowledge to over 200 attendees. Topics discussed included: responding to ransomware effectively; preparing for IoT viruses; containing a machine learning breach; planning for nation state incidents and building a robust resilience culture.

Simon Townsend, Chief Technologist EMEA for Ivanti praised the “superstar CISOs”, whilst other attendees commented on the “well organised, relevant thought-provoking” seminars. As sharing experiences leads to better risk prevention, professionals from various companies and organisations such as Lloyds, Barclays and Southern Water were present on the day to equip themselves with invaluable skills. In order to remain strong in an unpredictable cyber climate, implementing these strategic methods is key for organisations and individuals alike.
