Should biometrics be used for authentication?

Stephanie Hare, Author of Technology Ethics, shares her views on biometrics being used as a form of authentication.

She spoke to us at teissLondon2020 where she suggested that because technology is evolving at such a fast pace in this field, we simply don’t know enough about the risks involved about this method of authentication.

There are plenty of questions she’d like answered – because this technology could potentially imbalance the relationship between government and citizen, putting more power into the hands of the former.
